How much does video surveillance cost for a house?

In this article, we want to make it easier for you to choose video surveillance for your home and how much it can cost you.

The protection of our most valuable property is extremely important, in this case the house is not just a physical object, but a warm house in which the family stands.

We will explain the four most important factors related to the type of system, the number of cameras and the quality of the video used by the recorder, and how long you want to keep the footage from the security cameras.

So let's start ...

We first need to figure out what we want to record

As with all investments, the cost of video surveillance , but the price is very different from the requirements and requirements. To make it easier for you, because we believe you are encountering this matter for the first time and do not want to give up the idea you had, or tomorrow when you finish work, remember how hard you worked our goal is to video surveillance for the house, the one you plan to buy runs as smoothly as possible and take advantage of that purchase from the benefits it offers.

So, let’s get to this point, the first thing you need to do is determine the goals you want to achieve, and then determine what is needed for you. As we are going to process video surveillance for the house, we started with the needs that most people probably have, which is to provide a garden and front door for your home, garage or building interior.

Video surveillance for a house with four cameras

Once we have set a goal, we define what we need, so we can conclude that 4 cameras would be enough for this type of request, but if you think you need more attention, the number of cameras you can connect to a  DVR or NVR  recorder you buy ( more information on DVR and NVR will be below). With two cameras in the yard we cover as many areas as possible (to get an insight into what is happening in it), with one entrance and garage / parking space.

Now that we have determined the number of cameras, we can switch to  DVR / NVR  (which the older one said: Aaaa, camera), so we will take 4 cameras with 4 cameras for 4 cameras.

If you plan to expand your home video surveillance with more than 4 cameras in the future, our advice is to deploy one thousand more and   connect all cameras (eg 8) with DVR or NRV with the appropriate number of ports, as the price for connecting multiple cameras on one device is much cheaper than buying several smaller devices for the same number of cameras.

Note: if you plan to expand your video surveillance to more than 4 cameras in the future, our advice is to deploy one thousand more and have a  DVR or NRV  with the appropriate number of ports connect all cameras (e.g. 8) The cost to connect multiple cameras on one device is much cheaper than buying several smaller devices for the same number of cameras.

Four key factors to be identified:

  • System type: analog, HD TVI / CVI (new generation analog and high definition) or IP
  • The number of  cameras  you want to embed and the quality of the video it broadcasts
  • DVR or NVR  (recorder)
  • The number of days you want to save

All of the above affect price, so let’s start with the short lines for each of the above factors.

Video surveillance for the type of house system

The type of system is the technology used by  cameras  and  recorders  . Old analog systems are slowly going down in history and the purchase of this equipment is considered only by those who already have such a system and are forced to do the same.

Analog HD TVI / CVI high definition technology is by far the most cost effective purchase when it comes to home video surveillance, giving the user “high” money for high quality. This is also our recommendation to anyone who wants cameras in their household, so we will rely on this type of equipment below.

Finally, the most expensive and state-of-the-art IP systems are the ones that the company chooses mainly because of all the benefits and features they bring, but can be found in households (more on this topic in  IP cameras   video surveillance  article).

Camera for the house

Video surveillance behind the house, camera outsideNow that we have defined the type of equipment to switch to cameras, the price of the camera is affected by the maximum resolution that the camera can play, features that contain (D / N, DNR, WDR, ...), but do not overshadow the function, because it’s a topic for people who deal with it. But what is the same for each of us is the resolution and function of D / N (or Serbian voice cameras with day and night mode).

The resolution refers to HD (720p) and Full HD (1080p), and this term is comparable to all of them today because they are being bombarded by TV manufacturers.

As for D / N cameras, they have ICs that turn on if there is not enough light for day mode and switch to night mode (black and white video). The light given by the IR is not visible to the human eye, but will allow your camera to see in the dark.

The price of these cameras ranges from just 30 euros, just for information, and to understand that the technology itself is not violent, and the fact that camera prices are rising to almost 1,000 euros apiece. We think most found out in the first mentioned price because we are thinking about video surveillance for the house, not for NASA. 🙂 To learn more about cameras, read the video surveillance camera text  .

DVR recorders for the home

Prices for  DVR video cameras  range from about € 80 to almost € 300, and the price dictates the number of cameras the device can support, the resolution at which the received material can be reproduced and stored. Usually, these are just the basic reasons, but the second majority counter will be confused and we will continue to omit them. The only thing that matters to you is that the device can save real-time HD in real time, and for those with a slightly deeper pocket, Full HD is always a hot recommendation.

Video surveillance for the house, DVR

Not every video surveillance and home surveillance system makes sense if the material emitted by the camera is not stored for at least a few days. So now we need to decide how many days we want to keep the video material that recorded the video surveillance for the house. To store the material we need, we need an HDD. In short, the story is that as much space as possible could be stored for several days, and the capacity of the disks ranges from 1TB to the top, and all those available can be viewed  here  . In terms of the number of days that can be saved, it is best to calculate using the programs of the manufacturers you choose, we offer the most popular products - Dahua and Hikvision.
